A short film following a burnt out call worker, a thunderstorm, a haunted VHS and an event that changes their very idea of the truth. Mono was created by St Ghosty Creatives in 2026 following funding for their 'New Immersion' programme of work exploring immersive and technical exploration in performance and media. Art student Ian Jing impresses the realism-loving art teacher Mrs. Hui from the get-go. Following her advice, he draws exactly what he sees, straining his eyes in the process. To Mrs. Hui’s horror, Ian’s artwork gets progressively blurrier. In turn, his online fame skyrockets, as art critics on social media praise his unique style as an abstract artist. They ascribe deep, profound (pretentious) intentions and meanings to his stylistic choices, when all he's actually doing is drawing exactly what he sees.

This experimental short film by Iain Delavan serves as an abstract, yet harrowing expression of his struggles with Post-traumatic stress disorder, due to his repeated childhood sexual abuse. Iain was diagnosed with PTSD in March of 2022, and this film boldly represents the continued battles that Iain must face every day, such as severe depression, self-harm, panic attacks, flashbacks, nightmares, suicidal ideations, and other painful symptoms.
